IFRS and U.S. GAAP Convergence – Trending?????

Trending this week – U.S. adoption of IFRS.

But who would have thought that it would be mentioned in the final statement on the economic discussions between the U.S. and China.  But it was:  http://www.iasplus.com/en/news/2012/may/united-states-and-china-reaffirm-commitment-to-global-standards. (with thanks to iasplus.com, a Deloitte & Touche global accounting site).

As yet, no word from the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission.
